French Montana opens up about how he met Dubai princess Sheikha Mahra: “I’m like, I like her”

The Terror Squad rap legend, Fat Joe asked the billion-dollar question to French Montana that everyone is curious about: when did he start dating Sheikha Mahra, the Princess of Dubai and daughter of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum?

The Bronx rapper discussed how he met and started a relationship with Sheikha Mahra, a Dubai princess, through a mutual friend who knows her.

French Montana and Max B recently appeared on the Joe and Jada podcast. During the conversation, Joe inquired about how French connected with the Princess of Dubai. French explained that he was in Dubai when he noticed her Instagram post announcing her divorce from her husband in July 2024. He admired her courage in making such a public statement.

“I just happened to be in Dubai, and I remember I had seen her. She had put up that post where she divorced somebody. I’m like, I like her. Cause it take a lot of guts to throw that up. So when she threw that up, I’m like I like her.”

French became engaged to Dubai Princess Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, with the proposal taking place in June 2025 during Paris Fashion Week.

French Montana and Sheikha Mahra first sparked dating rumors in 2024, and they made their relationship official publicly last month. Both have maintained a low profile regarding their relationship, opting to keep most photos and moments private or sharing them with certain elements concealed.

Last November, French Montana marked his 41st birthday alongside his fiancée, Sheikha Mahra, Max B, and Central Cee, among others.
