Jim Jones reportedly won't face criminal charges following a fight at Florida Airport, Police agree, “Self-Defense”

The Dipset rapper, Jim Jones will not be charged for taking part in a violent fight at a Florida airport that was caught on camera.

Jim Jones successfully avoids criminal charges after getting in a fight at Fort Lauderdale Airport in Florida with two other men.

Broward County Sheriffs cleared Jim Jones of any wrongdoing after a wild 2-on-1 brawl on the escalator at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Saturday (May 4).

On Wednesday (May 8), TMZ reported that Broward County sheriffs believe the Dipset rapper acted in self-defense. According to the police report, Jim Jones informed officers the fight started back on his flight after he stood up to grab his bags from the overhead compartment. Apparently, James Dos Santos took issue with Jones, and pushed him in the chest as they began to exit the plane. Jim Jones then allegedly grabbed Santos' arm, which caused Santos to apologize.

TMZ broke the news as the incident was caught on cell phone video showing the 47-year-old recording artist tossing a man down the escalator while fending off a second man engaging in the altercation. One of the men had to receive medical attention for a head wound.

In the police report, Jones stated that he was confronted and pushed by fellow passenger James Dos Santos while collecting his belongings before the airplane stopped. Another passenger, Alexander Lekht, also got involved and started screaming at Jones before authorities arrived. Jones declined to file a report with authorities at the gate.

The report claims that Lekht continued to harass Jones heading to baggage claim. Lekht repeatedly flinched at Jim Jones, which caused him to react. The video shows Lekht and Santos throwing wild punches at Jones on the escalator as he defends himself.

Jones is seen on video yelling at Sheriffs that the two men were jumping him and it’s self-defense. Broward County sheriffs would agree with Jones after reviewing and collecting statements from multiple parties.

While sustaining a bruise underneath his eye, Jones declined to press charges against the two men. Later that evening, he hosted an event in Miami at Taboo.
