Juvenile & Mannie Fresh brings out the classics during ‘Tiny Desk’ concert


The New Orleans rap veteran performed a 10-song set that included “Set It Off,” “Slow Motion,” “Rodeo,” “Back That Azz Up” + More.

NPR Juvenile: Tiny Desk Concert has arrived.


A new NPR Tiny Desk live performance with help from New Orleans natives Mannie Fresh, Jon Batiste, Trombone Shorty and more.


On Friday (June 30), the platform aired the spirited performance from the 48-year-old featuring Mannie Fresh, Jon Batiste, Alvin Ford, and Trombone Shorty. According to NPR, Batiste flew in from London to ensure his participation.


Juvenile appeared on the popular live performance series, nearly 30-minute set that featured amped up renditions of 10 songs in the top tier of his catalog.


Hot Boys member performed throwbacks “400 Degreez,” “Bling Bling,” “Ha,” “Set It Off,” “Slow Motion,” “Rodeo,” “Project B****,” ending with “Back That Azz Up,” which he ran back for an enthusiastic attendee.

This year also marks the 25th anniversary of Gray’s third solo album 400 Degreez, which remains the rapper’s best-selling solo LP. Following Essence Festival, Gray will headline The Donna Fest at Urban South Brewery, where Juvie Juice is brewed. Also slated to perform are Mannie Fresh, Birdman, Rebirth Brass Band and more.
