Lynn Whitfield, Tracy Morgan & Steve Harvey pays tribute to Martin Lawrence at Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony
A,ctor, comedian Martin Lawrence honored with star on Hollywood Walk of Fame — 6900 block of Hollywood Boulevard, between Cherokee and Whitley avenues.
The comedian and actor was honored on Thursday (April 20), with reverent speeches from co-stars and collaborators Lynn Whitfield, Tracy Morgan and Steve Harvey, who showered Lawrence with affection and praise as they reflected on his journey throughout the years.
“Martin Lawrence has been a staple in pop culture for more than 30 years,” Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said in a statement before the ceremony. “This comedic genius has made many of us laugh for decades and he will continue to do so with his creative television and film moments.”
Martin’s daughters Amara, Iyanna and Jasmine were also present.
During an interview on the red carpet with Extra, Martin Lawrence shared some good news about Jamie Foxx after we learned he suffered a “medical complication” sources say a stroke last week.
“Well, I hear he's doing better,” Lawrence told the outlet. “My prayers go out for him every night and just wishing the best for him, one of the best that we got in Hollywood. Not only one of the best entertainers, but a good person.”
Foxx continues to receive medical care, It's been reported that he was steadily improving as he continued to recover.
Elsewhere, Martin Lawrence reflected on receiving his star, saying, “I feel so blessed and I thank God for this honor and just recognition and my fans and it's something that I always wanted.”
