MASTER P: “Look at Vegas; that's where some of the biggest fights happen, so this is an historic thing.”

Master P and Birdman's lineup of artists will compete hit for hit at ComplexCon in Las Vegas.

The No Limit Records founder discussed on Fox8nola the announcement of a Cash Money vs. No Limit Records event in Las Vegas, marking the return of the music battle series, "Verzuz". This event is set for October 25, 2025, at ComplexCon Las Vegas. It is being presented as a celebration rather than a competition, uniting the two iconic Southern hip-hop labels on a single stage.

Verzuz went on hiatus following legal turmoil involving cofounders Swizz Beatz and Timbaland and former partner Triller.

Both established in the early '90s and led by individuals native to New Orleans, Cash Money Records and No Limit Records share intertwined histories, with connections that extend beyond typical rap rivalries.

Founded by Master P, No Limit Records transformed the Hip-Hop scene by evolving the independent label into a regional and eventually national force.

No Limit, with its lineup centered on its leading artist, also included the group Tru (featuring brothers Silkk the Shocker and C-Murder), solo performers like Mystikal, Mia X, and the production team Beats By The Pound, climbed to the top of the Billboard charts.

Famous for the vast amount of material released and the artists it produced, along with critically acclaimed and commercially successful works, No Limit achieved an unparalleled level of success for a southern-based Hip-Hop label, establishing it as one of the greatest movements the culture had ever seen.

Conversely, Cash Money's ascent occurred during No Limit's peak, continuing to highlight New Orleans and advancing the city's signature guttural, melodic sound.

Cash Money, established by brothers Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams, gained mainstream attention with Juvenile’s influential 1998 album, 400 Degreez.

The supergroup the Hot Boys, consisting of Lil Wayne, B.G., Turk, and Juvie, keeps the momentum going with a continuous stream of both group and solo projects.
