President Donald Trump was questioned about Diddy when asked about pardoning Maxwell

The president was asked about Ghislaine Maxwell, but he ended up discussing Puff.

Donald Trump says Sean “Diddy” Combs asked him for a pardon: “A lot of people have asked me for pardons. I call him [Puff Daddy], he has asked me for a pardon.”

President Donald Trump mentioned that the music mogul who was recently sentenced has requested a pardon from him: following his recent sentencing to over four years in prison for charges related to prostitution.

In remarks to the media on Monday (October 6), Trump was asked whether he would consider pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted as an accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein. Earlier that day, the Supreme Court had rejected her attempt to overturn her conviction.

"I'd have to take a look at it," he responded about a possible Maxwell pardon.

That led Trump to ruminate on pardon requests more broadly.

"I have had a lot of people ask me for pardons," he said. "I call him Puff Daddy, he has asked me for a pardon."

On Friday (October 3), Diddy received a 50-month federal prison sentence for two counts of violating the Mann Act.

The charges pertained to "freak offs" — extended sexual encounters lasting hours or days involving the mogul's girlfriends and male escorts, which Combs financed, orchestrated, and frequently filmed.

Reports from this past summer indicated that Trump had already "seriously considered" pardoning Diddy.
