Lanez's legal team is appealing his three felony convictions and the 10-year sentence
Tory Lanez recently fortunately recovered well from his harrowing prison stabbing and moved to another jail facility.
On Monday (July 28), the California Court of Appeals scheduled oral arguments for his appeal on August 18, 2025. His legal team is challenging the conviction, citing issues with evidence and prosecutorial conduct.
The Brampton creative's lawyers claimed to have new evidence proving his innocence in the shooting case. This had resulted in a conviction and ten-year sentence back in late 2022 and led to multiple appeal attempts.
The new evidence itself is two-fold. One claim is from Kelsey Harris' bodyguard, who alleges he overheard her say that she shot Meg. Another is body-camera footage showing a conversation with an alleged witness. The witness alleged that he saw a woman shoot Megan.
Tory Lanez was found guilty on three felony charges related to the incident and sentenced to 10 years in prison. His legal team is arguing that there were errors during the trial that warrant a reversal or reduction of his sentence, citing "erroneous admission of evidence" and "prosecutorial misconduct."
