Memphis-based rapper Young Dolph, whose real name was Adolph Thornton Jr., laid to rest at First Baptist Church Broad Avenue.

Adolph “Young Dolph” Thornton Jr., family held his home going ceremony in Memphis on Tuesday.
The family decided to have a private funeral with close family and friends.
Dolph was known for helping the community from where he came, including handing out turkeys for Thanksgiving through Memphis Athletic Ministries charity and speaking to the schoolchildren of Memphis.
Dolph was shot and killed on Nov. 17 when he was at Makeda’s Butter Cookies. He had walked into the shop to buy cookies when someone drove up and shot him. No arrests have been made so far and police are still investigating.
