John Hughes’s 1987 Thanksgiving road-trip comedy is being rebooted “as a star vehicle” (no pun intended) for Will Smith and Kevin Hart. Smith and Hart will co-produce the remake.
Planes, Trains & Automobiles starred Steve Martin and the late John Candy as Neal Page and Del Griffith, two completely opposite men who are forced to travel together when their flight home to Chicago for Thanksgiving is canceled. They experience both hilarious and near-death situations in their three-day attempt to get home and end up becoming unlikely friends.
